In the beginning director, Sandeep Vanga wanted Ranveer Singh in the lead role of the movie "Kabir Singh". As per Sandeep, that did not work out and then he decided Shahid Kapoor. However, Producers wanted Arjun Kapoor for the lead role. However, Shahid Kapoor's name was officially released finally.
Kiara Advani will be the lead actress as Preeti in the movie. The innocent look and matured performance of this 26 years old actress own fans hearts before in the movie MS. Dhoni.
Tara Sutaria was announced to appear in the film as a lead actress but as her previous film Student of the Year-2 Release date was rescheduled to 10th May 2019 she steps out of the remake of Arjun Reddy.
Arjan Bajwa plays Shahid Kapoor's brother in the movie who has previously featured in films such as The Fashion (2008) and Rustom (2016).
Nikita Dutta will be starring in the movie besides Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani, is one of the finalists in "Femina Miss India contest 2012". Born on 13 Nov 1990, started her Bollywood career with romantic drama Lekar Hum Deewana Dil, 2014. Apart from that she also featured in television debut in Life Ok and Sony TV. In 2018 she won the award of Favourite Actress in Lions Gold Award.
